RPG Maker

RPG Maker, as the name suggests is only for old-style RPGs. A quick search on Steam under the RPG Maker tag will reveal the vast number of RPG games that use it to publish to the steam store for PC, Mac and Linux. The latest version, however, will also publish to all the major mobile devices. If you happen to want to make a retro RPG there is probably no point looking any further. If you want to make anything else then RPG Maker is definitely not what you want.
